Assessing the EU governments solutions to

the Financial and Economic Crisis

 

The financial crash is now haunting the planet for more than one year and has fully spilled over to the real economy, with the worst impacts for people still to come. Unemployment is soaring everywhere, insolvencies are reaching unprecedented levels, and social systems are even more put under pressure. This urgency however has not led the EU governments and the European Commission to truly change course. Instead of engaging in financial reforms which tackle the root causes of the crisis, the EU proposals so far are limited and short of what is needed to shape a sound financial system. The rescue and stimulus measures undertaken managed to avoid the total collapse of the economies, but are not enough to ensure a balanced system with stability in the long term.

Die Tour de France der Steueroasen

Steueroasen spielen sowohl durch die Steuervorteile, die sie ihren Kunden bieten, als auch durch das Bankgeheimnis und die rechtliche Immunität, die sie gewährleisten, eine grundlegende Rolle in der globalen Verbreitung von kriminellen Finanzaktivitäten.

In diesem Jahr haben die Veranstalter dieser "Tour de France" die gute Idee gehabt, in Monaco zu starten und mit den Etappen Andorra und Schweiz drei Steueroasen zu durchqueren.

Attac Frankreich, Attac Schweiz und weitere Partnerorganisationen werden aktiv dabei sein.

Das Programm : 

MONACO 3. bis 5. de juli

Am 3. Juli 2009, Ort: Place de la liberté in Cap d'Ail unweit der Grenze zu Monaco.

14 Uhr 30: Pressekonferenz zum Start der Aktion. In Anwesenheit von Dominique Plihon (Vorsitzender des Wissenschaftsrates von Attac) und Jean Merckaert (von CCFD-Terre Solidaire (katholisches Komitee gegen Hunger und für Entwicklung), Koordinator der Plattform zu Steuerrechtsoasen).

El « Tour de France » de los paraísos fiscales.

Por las ventajas que aportan a sus clientes, pero también por el secreto bancario y la inmunidad judicial que les aseguran, los paraísos fiscales juegan un papel primordial en la mundialización de las actividades financieras criminales. 

 

Este año, los organizadores del « Tour de France » han tenido la buena idea de hacer partir de Mónaco la vuelta ciclista francesa, con etapas en Andorra y Suiza, tres paraísos fiscales.

Attac Francia, Attac Suiza y otros socios se movilizan.

El programa : 

MONACO 3 a 5 de julio

El 3 de julio de 2009, Place de la liberté en Cap d'Ail, cerca de la frontera con Mónaco.

The Tour de France of tax havens

Tax havens play an essential role in the globalisation of criminal financial activity because of the tax advantages which they provide for their clients, but also because of the banking secrecy and the judicial immunity which they guarantee. 

This year the organisers of the Tour de France had the brainwave of leaving from Monaco with stages in Andorra and Switzerland, three tax havens. 

Attac France, Attac Switzerland and other partners, swung into action. 

The programme : 

MONACO 3rd - 5th July 

3rd July 2009, Place de la liberté at Cap d'Ail near the border to Monaco.  

2:30 pm: Inaugural press conference in the presence of Dominique Plihon (president of the scientific committee of Attac) and Jean Merckaert (CCFD - Terre Solidaire, [Catholic Committee Against Hunger and for Solidarity],  coordinator of the platform on tax and judicial havens.
