attac.org redesign

Description of the existing

The attac.org website has been redesign last year with the following objective :
- to promote the international compaign of attac
- to set up a social network for the activist and supporters of attac
- to update the design of the website
Based on drupal, the website has been developped in 4 languages : english, french, german, spanish
It consists of the following spaces
- attac presentation
- social network
- campaigns

attac presentation

This part consists in :
a page of presentation of attac
the international charter
a map with links to the attac chapters website
a rss feed from the other attac chapters website
a rss feed from friendly organisation website

Our campaigns

This par present the actives internationals campaigns.

The Social Network

The social network include :
- A blog space where each members can open a blog
- A photos space where the members can add photos album
- A groups space.
- every group can include the following publications :
- article for the blog
- wiki page
- events
- photos albums
- forum

Campaign space : to set up a space dedicated to the financial crisis, especially tobin tax with :

  • space for knowledge basis/popular education tool (including interacting tools like “set up you own tax on financial transactions”)
  • space to relate action from the attac chapter
  • link from the social network space related post
  • news aggregator from other website of the altermondialist movement dedicated to the financial crisis.
  • a get involve page (with something like petition/donate/join in)

All this should be in french/spanish/german/english

Improve the attac.org community space to enhance collaboration between activists :

The social network space need more help and ergonomic improvement to improve the use of the tool by everyone. This can be done :
- by setting up a real online and illustrated help
- by improve the ergonomic of the website (ie make important page quickly accessible)
- by improving the group's space to really feet the needs of the network that already started using it

Chers membres,Le nouveau portail du réseau international attac.org est maintenant en ligne.
Ce nouveau site est plus qu'une simple mise à jour. Il constitue un pas en avant dans le renforcement de notre réseau et dans la mise à disposition des militants d'outils leur permettant de développer leur activité de façon plus horizontale.

Fixed problem with my contacts page
Forum-module installed – necessary: Rearrangement of group-navigation
Dashboard: user-contact request added
All language packages have been installed- Fiona
Group modification: administration is not easy
Group forum should be put into a tab for the groups homepage

- layout remarks
I still have a hard time finding what I'm looking for on this page. Much is just a layout-problem. I would therefore:
1. reduce the size of the "attac international" logo or find some other way to make the upper bar less space consuming. -> Jule; Oliver will make it smaller (css)
2. make the whole content right-bound, not centered, in order to have some space on the right. -> it’s ok, perhaps smaller blog-post-overview
3. reduce the use of bold types in texts. -> yes, e.g. in bookmarks
One detail concerning the map on the first page: Attac Finland is missing.
perhaps the map could also be smaller? -> place it into a window above the dates-windows

Könnten die How-Tos als Wikipage angelegt werden?
Einführung
Wir brauchen einen Überblick über den Zweck der Seite (wurde von Mael schon geschickt) und über den daraus hervorgegangenen Aufbau mit all seinen Möglichkeiten
Aufbau
Erläuterungen müssen sich an verschiedenen Rechtegruppen orientieren (aufbauend):
1) "Normale" UserInnen (was haben die für Rechte?)
2) Group-Admins
3) Campaign Admins
Hier sollte auch stehen, was es mit den Rechtegruppen auf sich hat, d.h. welche zusätzlichen Möglichkeiten diese Gruppen jeweils haben und was mensch als User beachten muss
Ich schlage vor, mit der Normaluser-Gruppe beginnend den Arbeitsbildschirm zu erläutern: Was kann ich alles wie machen?

- set default publication language to the user's language

- improve publication of friends request and group members request (for group manager)

- enable geolocalisation for group, in order to allow local group to localize themself / create a taxonomy to distinct international/national/local groups

- create a socialnetwork homepage (with blogs post, events, group post and activity)

- improve user public homepage (include publications, contacts)

- change googlemaps for openstreetmaps

- publish friends activity

- enable private msg between members
