Privattac

Our network Privattac was founded at the first European Summer University of Attac in Saarbrücken in August 2008.

It has another root in the meetings of local attac groups in Jena-Weimar (2006), Toulouse (2007) and Berlin (2008)

and it now met again at the European activist meeting in Paris from 18-20 September. It includes participants from

France, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, Ireland, Norway, Germany, Denmark etc. and wants to expand to

include as many local Attac chapters from all European and Mediterranean countries as possible. Its main goal

is to run an alert system so as to make activists all over Europe aware of privatization projects and organize

resistance against them. It is opposed mainly to privatization of public services, but may resist other forms of

It has close links to other international networks of Attac such as LEE (Labour and employment), aquattac (water

privatization), rail-for-all (against railway privatization all over Europe) and the network against the privatization

of higher education.
